Final Reflection

For my Research Synthesis paper I chose to do it on Fast Food and the link to Obesity. I am satisfied with my choice still because it is a topic I have a strong opinion about. My goals for this research project was to find out all the facts about fast food and obesity to help shape the opinion I already have and I can say without a doubt that I did accomplish my goal. Some of the facts that interested me most were how often Americans visit fast food restaurants and how much is spent annually on fast food in the U.S.  This project definitely helped me gain a better understanding of the topic more than a traditional research paper because of the views that accompanied the facts. These type of opinions are not included in traditional research papers. I collected just enough information that I needed to write the paper because I did not want to be overwhelmed because there is so much information on this topic. Research was extremely easy to find. I learned that with the right resources, research papers are not as bad as they sound or as hard as we have grown accustom to. The hardest/challenging piece to write would have to be the argument synthesis just because I have never done one before. The photo essay was definitely the most interesting and fun to do because it was different than just writing a regular paper. I decided on my organization based on how I think I developed over the semester. So I put my best work last and not so great in the beginning. I learned so much by working with my peers on my revisions and edits. The advice they gave me was incredibly helpful. The most helpful thing was reading their papers so I could know if I was on the right path with my papers and just see other ways of doing the same paper.
